Bartlett’s Gatherings and Gourmet Pop up on February 28, 2022, was a complete success. The room was nicely decorated with plenty of seating for dinner. The servers were very prompt and courteous. Everything looked perfect.
The band was a jazz duo playing ambient music until after dinner. Their light jazz flare added to the ambience of the event.
The first thing we did was get a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon at the bar. The wine was a California red house wine of mediocre taste. The wine selection was limited but broad enough for most people.
I then made my way over to the appetizer table. The charcuterie board was arranged so nicely and looked spectacular. It was packed with hard salami and pepper-crusted soft salami. The prosciutto was tender, tasty, and perfect. There were a variety of cheeses available, but I chose the habanero cheese. It was moderately spicy, soft, and very tasty. Crackers, fruit and nuts adorned the rest of the platter.
Enjoying the company of my table, my entree arrived. My plate looked perfect. The Beef Wellington was beyond words. Perfectly cooked with a flaky fresh crust, I savored every morsel. It was cooked to a perfect rare. The meat was so tender it melted in your mouth. Rice pilaf accompanied my entree along with halved braised Brussel sprouts.
Pam’s dessert bar was arranged in the front of the room in an enticing fashion. I had a slice of the orange creamsicle cake. At a perfect sweetness and a light orange flavoring, I had to get a second slice. Other choices on the dessert bar were a gluten-free chocolate log cake packed with creamy filling, and a masterpiece of a carrot cake.
